Before your appointment
How to prep your hair

Arrive with clean hair
Wash and dry your hair 1–2 days before your appointment. Clean hair holds braids better and keeps your scalp healthy under the style.

Skip the products
Please come product-free — no oils, gels, leave-ins, or heavy creams. Product buildup makes hair slippery and can shorten how long your style lasts.

Detangle beforehand
Gently detangle your hair at home so we can spend our appointment time on your style, not knots.

Eat and get comfortable
Some styles take a few hours. Eat beforehand, wear something comfortable that doesn't need to go over your head, and bring headphones if you'd like to relax.
Caring for your protective style
- Moisturize your scalp every 2–3 days with a light oil or spray — dry hair underneath a style is more prone to breakage.
- Wear your style for 6–8 weeks maximum. Leaving braids or locs in too long can cause matting and tension on your roots.
- If a braid feels painfully tight in the first 48 hours, let us know — tension should settle, not stay sharp.
- Sleep with a satin or silk bonnet or pillowcase to reduce frizz and friction.
- Book your takedown or a fresh install as soon as your style reaches its limit, rather than pushing past it.
Booking
Reserve your spot
Every booking requires a $20 non-refundable deposit to hold your appointment time. Your deposit comes off your total service price on the day.
Deposit policy
A $20 deposit is due at the time of booking to secure your appointment. This deposit is non-refundable, and is applied toward the cost of your service. Cancellations or no-shows within 24 hours of the appointment forfeit the deposit.
